The Last Secret Cover Reveals

tls double cover copy

Here are the covers for The Last Secret! This is the sixth and final book in the Scarlet and Ivy series. (Fear not, though – a new series is coming soon…) Writing this one is an amazing experience. There are so many things to tie up – I really hope this ending will leave you all feeling very satisfied!

As always, the UK artwork (left) is by Kate Forrester, while the Aus/NZ/Canada artwork (right) is by Manuel Sumberac. What clues about the story can you pick out from the covers?

Special thanks also to Elisabetta Barbazza and the design team from HarperCollins UK for their awesome work on the Scarlet and Ivy covers.

Here’s a taster of the story:

When Scarlet and Ivy return to school after the holidays, they quickly realise that the school is in danger. The twins will need to confront enemies from their past and their present if they are to have any chance of it surviving. Could the last secret at Rookwood be the one that brings it down? Or will Scarlet and Ivy be able to untangle the trails of clues and red herrings in time to save it?

The Last Secret is currently due to release in January 2019.

  2. I cannot wait! I’ve read every book as soon as it came out, and I loovvveed every single one! My favourite one so far is The Lights Under The Lake, though the third one was amazing as well. The Last Secret is going to be incredible, I can already tell! You have such a talent as an author, and I can’t wait to see how you wrap up this amazingly complex series. I’ll always follow your writing, and I can’t wait for future books!

  3. Dear Sophie,
I LOVE reading your books! They are so mysterious and always leave me satasfied at the end of every book. I am young, but when I grow up I am definitely putting Scarlet and Ivy as an option for my kids names. I really want to meet you. Thanks so much for making your books, I couldn’t survive without them!

  4. I was so excited when this book came out, I had to buy it instantly. I finished The Last Secret in less than two days, and again it did not disappoint. I loved it so much, and I am sad to see this series come to an end. Scarlet and Ivy was one of my favourite book series and I won’t forget it. I can’t wait to see new releases of books. Thank you so much for making me smile from your amazing books 🙂

  5. Sophie these are some of the best books I have ever read, funnily enough I would never of read them if my name hadn’t been in the title, my mum was looking for books for me in the library and once she saw my name she made me borrow it, as soon as I started i was hanging on every word, I can’t wait to read this last book but will be very sad when it’s over. There is one question I have though, why were the names Scarlet and Ivy and why Scarlet with one T, I thought I was the only Scarlet with one T, and funnily enough after reading the first book I felt I was way more like ivy than Scarlet anyways!

    1. Thanks so much Scarlet! Actually I originally named the twins Ruby and Ivy, but my publisher also publish Ruby Redfort by Lauren Child and she is right next to me in the alphabet! So we thought it was too confusing. I decided to change the name to Scarlet because it’s a type of red just like Ruby 🙂

      1. Thank you! My new series title is a secret for now, hopefully I will be able to reveal it soon! My publisher is HarperCollins for most of the world. They are a traditional publisher which means you have to apply to them and if they accept you, they pay you for the right to publish your book. You can put your book online on sites like Amazon for free. 🙂

I have three different cover artists so far. The UK covers are illustrated by Kate Forrester. The internal illustrations and the covers now used for Australia/NZ/Canada are by Manuel Šumberac. The first 3 US editions are illustrated by Francesca Resta.
